Relationships are like cars.

Sometimes you trade them in, over and over; sometimes you keep one clean and running smoothly out of appreciation, need, and /or pride; sometimes you just drive them hard and recklessly, into the ground.

Sometimes you get a lemon, but you pour your time and money into it, obsessively believing that it can still be fixed.

The worst is when they're not ever going to run anymore, but you have to live in one because it's the only thing you have left in the world.

Sometimes you just have to walk or take public transportation because you can no longer be trusted to have a car.
